Beautiful, unique, plus super high quality stainless steel. This knife is functional art meant to be used and passed to future generations.

Hand-forged to Salter Fine Cutlery's own original designs, the knife is made from a very high quality Japanese stainless powder metal die steel, called R2.

Every knife has been forged from a solid bar of steel. There are no welded sections like you find in many production knives.  

In addition, the custom pattern containing many small whirlpool shapes, was created in Japan by an 8th generation bladesmith. He made the blade using time-honored traditional Japanese forging methods. Every small whirlpool shape was created individually by his hand! The blade is signed in kanji by the blademaker.

And for anyone who loves the country, veterans and military, we have made this knife by special request with a very patriotic theme. Handle wood is recycled teak from the deck of a US Battleship, with blackwood accents, a nickel-silver top fitting and red/white/blue accent striping. 

Our custom handle was created on the Big Island of Hawaii. Completely handcrafted,
