Shipping Information & Terms
All items are custom-crafted and shipped from the Big Island of Hawaii.
Our standard shipping fees are based on UPS or FedEx shipping rates. We can ship USPS Priority upon special request within the Continental United States and locally within the Hawaiian Islands.
For USA shipping, we offer a free upgrade to 2nd day air if shipping via FedEx.
Our standard shipping rates include shipping insurance costs.
We are happy to accommodate other shipping requests, such as expedited, registered, or use of an alternate carrier (please see list below for available carriers) for an additional fee. Costs for these services are calculated on per order basis. Insurance is required.
If you have your own shipping account, we will gladly accommodate requests for direct billing. Insurance is optional, but we will not be liable if you specifically refuse insurance coverage.
If an alternative shipping service or carrier is desired, please let us know in the comment section on the checkout screen and we will finalize the details via email the same day. If billing shipping to your own carrier account, we will charge a separate handling fee.
For all destinations outside of the continental United States and for the State of Hawaii, shipping costs and payment arrangements will be made via email after checkout is complete.
If any non-standard shipping service, carrier, or destination is required, you are invited to contact us for a shipping estimate prior to placing your order.

All charges due to Salter Fine Cutlery must be paid in full prior to products being shipped.

- UPS: Ground or 2nd day air
- FedEx: Domestic or International, Ground, 2nd or 3rd day air
- USPS: Priority Mail (available for smaller orders only)
- USPS: Registered or Express on International orders
- DHL: International only
Estimated Shipping Times
Most items shipped USPS have a delivery time of 3 business days within the continental U.S.
UPS delivery times are between 3 days to a week depending on destination (west coast addresses generally receive delivery sooner than east coast addresses). Some areas may take a little longer.
UPS or FedEx expedited air may take 2 to 3 days depending on the service category chosen.
Sorry, there is no overnight delivery available from our island to the mainland.
International shipments vary greatly by location. Contact us for estimates based upon your preferred carrier from the list above.
Please anticipate longer transit times during periods of inclement weather (anywhere along the transit route), and peak holiday seasons. We strongly recommend FedEx 2nd Day Air during the holiday shipping season.
Insurance & Liability
SHIPPING INSURANCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL SHIPMENTS.
Salter Fine Cutlery makes every attempt to securely and safely package and ship our products. Our products are a labor of love and we want to ensure they arrive in your hands looking exactly as we last saw them. However, we cannot be responsible for damages incurred by the carrier after packages have left our facility.
If packages are lost, delayed, or damaged while in the shipping carrier's possession, we will do our best to help resolve the problem, including contacting the carrier and trying to find alternate solutions for lost or damaged items, but we cannot assume responsibility for those items. Therefore, we require that all items be fully insured through the shipping carrier while in transit.
In the unlikely event of damage during shipping, please contact us right away for further instructions. Do not discard any packaging materials. Please take photos of the outer packaging and damaged area as soon as possible.

Please be aware that all international shipments will incur duties and fees at the destination country. All local duties, taxes or fees imposed by the destination country will be the sole responsibility of the consignee. We advise you to check with your local custom officials for potential fees prior to completing your order.
We have no control over the laws of any country, nor can we be responsible for whether our products are allowed to be imported into your home country. Some countries do not allow certain blade lengths, do not allow shipments of edged knives, or do not allow certain handle materials. We strongly advise you check with your local authorities prior to ordering and advise us if certain materials are banned from importation into your country.
If a product is impounded for any reason when it reaches your country, Salter Fine Cutlery will not be liable for any such loss and no refund of monies will be given.
