About the blade:

- Hand-forged blade made in the Osaka area of Japan
- Shirogami carbon steel

About the Handle:
- Faceted shape with a slight widening near the end of the handle
- Hawaiian curly koa wood with rare reddish tones
- Real turquoise stone accents under bolster and end cap
- Narrow stainless steel top fitting for added hygenic purposes.
- Stainless steel and brass accents
- Slight flare to under-bolster area for increased control and grip when wet.
Please note that the blade is made from traditional Japanese carbon steel. Extra maintenance is required to prevent either rust or dark spots just like you may remember from old knives your mom or grandma would have used prior to stainless steel becoming popular.
