The handle was handcrafted by Gregg Salter of Salter Fine Cutlery in our Hawaii workshop of kiln-dried, rare, legally harvested, reclaimed koa wood.

About the Saya:
- Handcrafted in Hawaii from contrasting 4A curly koa wood and maple
- Internally encased in hard non-reactive maple, with outside liners of curly koa wood
- Hand-contoured inside the sheath to create an exact fit to the knife blade
- Snaps into place yet glides easily out of the saya when removed, similar to a sword saya
- Handmade African blackwood (aka Mozambique ebony) retaining pin
