How to Customize your own Steak Knife Set

Every Salter Fine Cutlery steak knife set is a unique one-of-a-kind creation made with your own tastes in mind, and made completely by hand. We have made custom sets from a single 1-piece set to a 60-piece set.

You may choose to order your set in one of our unique and beautiful Hawaiian koa wood display presentation boxes to add a dramatic statement to your dining presentation. Our presentation boxes have been ordered in many sizes, but are the most preferred storage option for 10-piece, 12-piece or larger sets.

Smaller sets, from 2-piece to 8-piece sets make a memorable gift when received in one of our keepsake boxes, featuring solid curly koa wood lids and sides with ebony corner accents.  

 If simple knife storage is all you require, you can also save by ordering your set in a gift box or a drawer storage rack only. In fact, you may order the knives only if you already have a place to store them.

We also offer four different blade options which you can see by checking out our Steak Knife Set Configurations page. There you will see a variety of sample photos and descriptions of the options chosen for each set.  Mix and match the options to your own preferences to create your own look.

The handles afford the greatest room for customization. You may choose to order your handle from our signature Hawaiian curly koa wood or in a wood of your choosing to match your own dining decor.  Sorry, it is not possible to guarantee any particular color when ordering wood. Wood is a natural product and as such, may change in color and feature slightly from knife to knife throughout the set. It is part of the beauty of ordering this amazing wood.  We can assist you if you have special color needs.

Further customize your handles by choosing whether you would like a color accent or another material near the blade. This is called the bolster and can be made from another darker wood or metal.  The most ordered selection is either an ebony section (bolster) or one of nickel-silver or stainless steel, though we also offer other materials like mokume or brass.
