"What Do You Have in Stock?"

"What Do You Have in Stock?"

Over the next few weeks, I will attempt to answer questions we have received from you.

One of the most common questions I get is: "What do you have in stock?" The simple answer is "quite a bit". Here is the longer answer.

First, I should explain. We make custom cutlery. Your knife or knife set is completely handmade with YOU, your tastes, decor, or preferences in mind. They are works of functional art.

We keep a good supply of hand-forged blades in a variety of sizes, steels, and designs in our inventory, meaning we do have many of the knives you see on our web site in stock. However, most of those will not have handles or boxes added until we hear from you and receive your order.  Therefore, it is a good idea to order as far in advance as possible.

If we don't have the blade, size or style you want, we normally can get one for you or have one of our bladesmiths in Japan make what you want. Those custom orders will take longer to receive depending upon the bladesmith's production queue, as well as ours.

However, we also know sometimes our customers just want to see something and buy it now. Perhaps it is for a last minute gift. Sometimes you may just want to buy what you can see. For that reason, Gregg will make extra knives as he can along with or between custom orders. You can find these knives on our "Quick Gifts" page. Everything on that page is made and ready to ship immediately.

Send me your suggestions for blog topics and questions. We promise to answer all requests.
